Fall 2018 | Maggie Kirk
My first quarter of college as an architecture student!
On Day 1, we started by drawing 99diagrams. I analyzed three of László Moholy-Nagy's paintings to produce the diagrams below.

Next, we moved on to turning 2D diagrams into 3D cubes, first through bristol models, then through plaster.

The next skill I picked up is how to use the metal shop. For the sheared shapes exercise, we used sheet metal to bend, weld, and cut to produce another 6"x6"x6" cube.
Through this exercise, I started picking up Rhino modeling skills as well. Unroll command was super helpful in aiding me build my physical model.

CUBE 3_FOCUS
The last cube out of this series is made of wood. I used the wood shop for the first time! I also made a lot of analog diagrams to map out the grains and knots of my wood plank.
